Label FAQ
How should I contact World Famous In San Francisco?
What Is World Famous In San Francisco?
World Famous In San Francisco was founded by Jeremy Morony and Tom Marzella in 2007. These like minded music lovers wanted to help promote all of the excellent music they were going to see (and, in Tom's case, make) so they started a blog to talk about it and make fun of their friends. Then they thought they should do even more to get the word out so they started this label. In addition, they're promoting shows once a month in San Francisco with a night called
Club Club You're Dead at The Stud.
Who is World Famous In San Francisco?
Tom Marzella is a San Francisco musician who has at one time been a member of the following; Marzipan, Panic Ear Service, Omewenne,
Puce Moment,
Hard Place,
Mon Cousin Belge, and
Girls. He was peripherally involved in the Echonet singles label and wants World Famous to carry on the vinyl tradition of releasing the best in local and not so local music. Tom has big brown Italian eyes and is so funny he will make you cry (because his jokes are that bad).
Jeremy Morony is actually not World Famous in San Francisco, in fact he's just some guy who goes to see local music compulsively and knows what each and every one of you local musicians is up to. Watch out!
Why is the label named World Famous In San Francisco?
It is an homage to the Mel Brooks joke about Poland's most famous actress Anna Brodski. Who is that you ask? Why she's world famous in Poland. We are kind of poking fun and the local celebrity aspect of the music scene, where all musicians can be World Famous In San Francisco
How do I get your records?
Pull out your wallet, open it and take out all of the money, then put it back because we use Paypal. This is the easiest way to order, and allows use of major credit cards or your PayPal account.
- Just look for the 'buy' links on the releases page or each available release's info page.
- Once you have clicked a buy link for an item, a new window will open showing you the item has been added to your shopping cart. If you're done you can checkout from here. If not, feel free to close this window and keep browsing this site.
- When you are ready, click the "view cart" link in the left sidebar to view your cart or start the checkout process.

Blog FAQ
What is the World Famous in San Francisco Blog
The blog was launched in an attempt to pull together all of the various scenes in SF that we liked. It was also a developed in hopes of pranking bands and SF celebrities who google their own names. Some of the things we write about are not so nice. We wanted to start a blog that had an opinion.
What Should I Do If I See My Band or Project being trashed on World Famous?
Think of it as taking the Plan B pill as opposed to having a full blown abortion. We never write about anything that's boring so you should read what we wrote about you and masturbate with little to no abandon.
How Do I Get My Event or Band Written about on World Famous?
It might be wise to come to any of the World Famous Events or
Club Club You're Dead and say hello, hand us your demo in person or give us a flyer. We support the people who support us! (unless you really suck or aren't the least bit attractive)
Club Club You're Dead FAQ
What is Club Club You're Dead?
CCYD is our attempt at creating a place where touring bands can play along side local SF acts. We were inspired by Creation Record's Alan McGee who ran the Living Room and showcase his favorite bands, not all of which were on the creation label. We want the night to be more than bands, showcasing cutting edge drag, performance art and other non-traditional rock club antics such as the over 40 Gay Man's Beauty Contest.
When is CCYD? Where is CCYD?
The first Wednesday of every month. Doors at 9, show at 10. CCYD is always at The Stud, Harrison @9th ST. SOMA San Francisco.
How Do I Get Booked at Club Club You're Dead?
Start hanging out at the club, tell all your friends about the club, approach us about playing while demonstrating what a good time you're having at our club with all of the friends you brought along.
What should I do if I get slipped the date rape drug or overdose at Club Club You're Dead?
Tell everyone the last thing you remember is going to Herr-A-Chick. Don't call the cops or narc on us. We've already destroyed the evidence. Besides, by wearing that slutty outfit you were totally asking for it.
How old do I have to be to get into CCYD
21, no ifs ands or butts, we love the Stud and do not want to get the Club In Trouble.
My Band is booked to play CCYD, what should I do?
send us a message via
MySpace or email
info@worldfamousinsf.com
For any special needs, are you part of a special needs band? (require more than 2 microphones or a sound check?) If we have time to prepare we can suit your needs. Please load in on 9th Street, we'll open the door that opens out onto 9th. Also, we make flyers for each CCYD, we'd love to provide you with some if your band is scheduled to play to help get the word out. The entire door take is for the performers so the more people you bring in, the more you get paid.
I think I got an STD while partying at CCYD, what should I do?
Go to the Dr. or the clinic and do not return to CCYD unless 10 or more days have passed since you completed your treatment.
