Mon Cousin Belge Record Release Flyer

Now that The Department of Homeland Security can go back to doing what they do best (harassing hungry Mexicans and bothering Hosers) and have, in the meantime, ceased to molest Belgian superstar Emile of
Mon Cousin Belge, at long last, the boys were all in one country and finally, miraculously managed to create one of the most exciting, electric and eclectic, soul-searching recordings in this first part of a most promising new century. Following the thunderous surprise show of last June, the newly formed Mon Cousin Belge will be setting ablaze the fabulous Cafe du Nord, celebrating the official release of their debut recording, Quelle Horreur. Sharing the bill with Mon Cousin Belge are three of the very best that San Francisco has to offer.

If you have not yet heard or seen San Francisco’s own Girls, you’ll be glad to know that on this very special and most momentous occasions, MCB will have the huge honor of playing with one of the most mesmerizing, heart-felt and beautiful bands in the country.

In addition, MCB will be playing with the incredible Passionistas and Bridez. So, if you like it clever, tongue in cheek and elsewhere, sassy-boy-style, Passionistas will charm you within inches of your lives, and Bridez are equal parts demolition rawk gods and pretty little snot nosed brats, foul-mouthed and claws raised, shrill and gloriously noisy.

This will be a night to remember. Drinks, WILL BE SPILLED. So come out, 27 August to The Cafe du Nord, and be prepared for an historical night of international entertainment and down home debauchery.

Hard Place on New Weird America Comp and in Phoneix 8/1 & 8/2

Check out this comp Hard Place is on put together by some folks out of Phoenix called New Weird American. The sounds don’t seem too overtly folksy as their name might imply, but maybe they think folk music has more to do with who is making it rather than what it sounds like. Why not take a listen:

Speaking of Phoenix, Hard Place is on their way there and we don’t kno what is going to happen to people’s eyes when the valley of the sun is covered in glitter.
