We should probably tell you something about Bronze and T.I.T.S. other than we love ‘em, they’re going to do a collaboration, and this is going to be the best CCYD yet. Bronze will put you into the deep freeze on the dancefloor with their impersonal electronic krautrock dark wave performance thing and T.I.T.S. (its really an acronym!) are going to shatter you with their scary walpurgisnacht chants and guitar doom. Also dont miss Tekniq, the greatest almost amateur dance troupe that could(n’t).

Beloved ex San Franciscan Matt Cote was in town with his (supposedly) ex-boyfriend/manager Cesar to pick up an award for his performance in the Montana Video production of Sloppy Seconds. Can anybody tell me what he was nominated for and what award he collected?
One of my favorite DJ’s, if not my favorite DJ is spinning what may be his final show tonight at the Attic. Larry has been spinning every other Saturday at the Attic from 6 to 9 for some time now. We hope to have him soon at Club Club You’re Dead but until then come out to the Attic for some great tunes (C-86, Garage, obscure 60’s and local music). Also say goodbye to Jefferson Greene who is working his final shift as bartender.

This lovely lady hosted a show Carletta Sue Kay recently played in downtown L.A. She was fierce honey! She had heels that must have been ten fucking inches tall and I watched her descend one of the most frightening, steepest staircases I’ve ever seen, in them. She is seriously fierce yall and she will fuck you up!

Back in 2006 Mon Cousin Belge contributed music to the soundtrack of Falcon Video’s Gay Porn feature The Velvet Mafia. Touted by the legendary local gay porn house as a chance to “Enter the world of The Velvet Mafia: a world of sex, guns and betrayal!” The plot centered around a porn actor named Fox Ryder, and the rival between two gay porn studios over who got to use this porn actor in their films. The weird thing, this actor, Fox Ryder, also went by the porn nom de plum of Brent Corrigan. Unfortunately he couldn’t use his original porn star name because the producer of some sleazy bareback videos named Brian Kocis owned the rights. Here’s a trailer of Velvet Mafia featuring some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen, and MCB’s music, the cheesy keyboard at the beginning is actually from my $100 Casio Keyboard (RIP).
Anyway, an aspiring porn actor named Harlow Cuadra met with this Brent Corrigan/Fox Ryder person in hopes of the two of them starring in a movie together. In their minds, the twinky twosome would be the hottest thing on the gay porn market, generating millions of dollars in hopes of erasing all of their credit card debt. Here’s a pic of the two actors together..not my type!
Unfortunately sleazy producer Brian Kocis still owned the Brent Corrigan name, I assume Falcon video owned the rights to the Fox Ryder name. More unfortunately, Brian Kocis turned up dead. Throat slit, stabbed 30 times, burned. One of the prime suspects and one of two men eventually convicted of the murder, was the baby face Cuadra pictured on the left above. Here’s Brent Corrigan/Fox Ryder arriving to testify at the trial, isn’t he dreamy? To die for?
Apparently the script for Velvet Mafia was written well before Brent Corrigan/Fox Ryder was cast. This is just a sad coinkydink. Harlow was convicted of 1st Degree murder and might get the death penalty, his boyfriend, a Joseph Kerekes, who most likely did the actually stabbing and slicing of the throat pled guilty to second degree murder. So ironically here we have entered the real world of sex guns and betrayal. Here’s a news piece about the murder and ensuing trial. Mon Cousin Belge was nominated for an AVN Award for best music for their contribution to Velvet Mafia but lost, so in the end nobody wins. (MCB appears at the SF Eagle on 5/28)
