Mission Creek Music Festial 2k9: call for artists
Well, we’ve attended, reviewed, taken photos of, played, and made fun of The Mission Creek Music Festival and now in its lucky thirteenth year I’m helping to organize it. If you don’t know much about the festival, its focused on emerging (and established) San Francisco music and art and has been host to some of the most fun shows I’ve been to. Currently the festival is booking, looking for new talent, and taking submissions through SonicBids (which I know is a favorite topic amongst people organizing and applying to festivals).

13th Annual Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival – CALL FOR ARTISTSWhen
Oakland – Friday, July 10th through Sunday, July 12th

Call For Artists
MCMAF is currently accepting applications from emerging artists. In choosing which performers will play the festival, we use a variety of criteria, mainly the following: 1) Talent and Originality – Are the performers skilled in playing and performing, and do they have something special that we don’t see every day? 2) Popularity – While we are often excited to give new performers a chance, we must be able to pair them with another act that has substantial draw. Imagine if someone threw a festival and nobody came! 3) Professionalism – We expect all performers to promote themselves, be punctual, cooperative, and pleasant to work with.Where To Apply
Apply via Sonic Bids, or by visiting our website at www.mcmf.org

Mission Creek Productions is pleased to announce, the 13th season of San Francisco’s beloved Music and Arts Festival. A variety of Bay Area venues, both big and small, will host a wide array of events including film, dance, art, music and multi-media presentations.MCMAF is an annual collaborative effort presented by a consortium of local independent concert promoters, musicians, artists, filmmakers, dancers and multimedia performance artists. Through this forum, Mission Creek strives to:
- Foster community among local Bay Area artists
- Showcase emerging artists and musicians
- Bring innovative and diverse programming to a wider audience
Mission Creek strives for ethical programming and sponsorship–selecting music and art in a fair and democratic way, and using green and sustainable technology wherever possible.
Mission Creek, a fiscally sponsored project of Intersection for the Arts[1] , was founded in 1996 by local Bay Area musician/artist Jeff Ray. Until Mission Creek, there was no known festival that promoted independent Bay Area musicians and artists. Now in its 13th year, the festival has grown tremendously in size and attendance, from a one-day event with eight bands and an audience of approximately 100 to a multi-day event with up to 180 acts, serving an audience of approximately 5,000.
