Dudes, new Hunx video. Sonically, Tears On My Telephone continues to explore what is probably the only viable path for girl group sounds: via the ramones in the aftermath of the gay bomb. Visually the video doesn’t stray either, its like a muppet babies version of John Waters or Kenneth Anger (but don’t think there’s no danger, a visit to the clinic is always closer than you think). Surprisingly it seems like the lens, and not the men, is what’s greased up in this video as there’s tons of soft focus action. Its cool though, I think this is the best looking video these guys have done even though I’m not in it and I’m kind of confused by Hunx’s russian widow outfit.
Speaking of World Famous in SF cameos, there’s a few in this one. Keep your eyes peeled for Liza from BRIDEZ and its Brian Glaze man!

Calling all super fans, obsessives, people who are ready for their fifteen minutes, and anybody with an extra pillow. The Passionistas will be shooting a video for their song “Pie In The Sky” this Sunday, November 16th, at noon in Golden Gate Park. Come form some golden memories.

Before these videos, I wasn’t quite sure how to describe Bridez other than referencing Liza’s old band So So Many White White Tigers. But after seeing the grainy TV screen quality of shake out my hair it clicked — The Jesus and Mary Chain fronted by Jennifer Herrema. And not just because Liza works the same look. This is the nineties remembered by people who weren’t even teenagers yet in 1990.

Tea Elles were next and they took a million years to set up. Its two guitars and drums, which I think were shared with the other bands, come on! Put the drink down, tell your friend you’ll talk to them after the show. If you think they won’t be there after, well…
Nah. Actually, I was sick and cranky so every little thing was annoying me. The band was ok — definitely better than their myspace. I had the tonsillitis though, so after a few songs I just couldn’t keep up with all the acrobatic guitar and had to go home and stare at my disfigured tonsils in the mirror.
